Happy Birthday Cards

I enjoy making cards...I just wish I didn't make such a mess doing it! Anyway, here are a few birthday cards I've made. I really love the pink & green ones!

Sorry this one is sideways...I'm having trouble getting it to rotate properly.

It's Baby Time

So I went to a baby shower for my cousin's wife yesterday. My mom and I were wrapping all of the gifts for her and when we finished she said, ok card girl go make us some cards. So I made three - one for my gift, one for my mom's and one for the gift from my sisters.

I think the last one is my favorite. Yes, I have made one very similar to the purple one before...I think it is amazing how different a card can look just by changing the colors.

Sweet Birthday

Check out this cute birthday card (the inside says "May your birthday be as sweet as you")
I used The More the Merrier stamp set (which you can only get as a hostess, so let's book your party!) and colored in the cupcakes with the Stampin' Pastels.

Hip-hippo-ray!

So I think I finally get how to use the blender pens with the Stampin' Pastels and boy do they make it nice! Can I just say how much I love the Stampin' Pastels?! You get all 48 of the Stampin' Up! colors plus black, white and gray for only $24.95! It is such an affordable way to get a bunch of colors.

You could use this super cute hippo card for a baby shower (just use blue instead of pink and it works for boys too) or a baby's birthday or just anytime you want to congratulate someone! I love the embossed diamond lines (I used the raised side, but stay posted for a way to use the card with the lines indented for a faux tile look) and the darker pink circles, which I just used some VersaMark on extra of the base pink paper and punched out with my hole puncher. The VersaMark is also one of my favorite things out of the Stampin' Up! catalog, not only do I love what it does but it is priced to sell at only $7.50. I haven't seen it for under $9 at the local craft stores.
Close up of the hippo detail. Isn't she so cute?!?!
Here you can see the texture of the card.

Christmas??? In July???

So I made this snowman card the other day and while I think that it is cute (and I really like the snow effect on the bottom) I just think it is too early for Christmas cards. Maybe because it is 110 degrees in the afternoons???
The snowmen are heat embossed and for the snow at the bottom I just ran a blender pen (or a paint brush, whatever you have) along the side of my white craft stamp pad (it would probably be easier if I had the refill and could just pour some of that out) and then swirled it onto the card.
This stamp comes from one of the hostess sets, so you can only make cards with these super cute snowmen if you host a party of your very own!

For some reason my card is sideways...
You can really see how textured the snow is at the bottom.

Card for Friday's Party

I wanted to post a preview of the card we will be making at the party I'm hosting on Friday, just in case anyone planning to attend wants to know what's in store. I think it is so cute, and it is simple, but not boring (you can't really tell from the picture, but the image is embossed).

Hello Spring

I sent this card to my brother and sis-in-law with some goodies. Apparently when I think of spring I think of pink and yellow.

Happy New Baby

So I got my start up kit in the mail yesterday and made this card last night for my friend's upcoming baby shower.
I put the stamp sets used in the labels section for the post. For more info on how to make this card, contact me and we'll get together!
